Two Step Chocolate Bark

Transform Your Leftover Easter Chocolate into Deliciously Sweet Chocolate Bark with This Easy Recipe!

Ingredients
200g dark chocolate, chopped
2 tbsp milk chocolate pieces
small handful pretzel pieces
2 tbsp of any other toppings (other ideas include nuts, instant coffee, honeycomb pieces, etc)

STEP 1
Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds, until smooth. Spread onto a parchment-lined baking tray with a spatula, making a thin layer approximately 35 x 20 centimeters.

STEP 2
Sprinkle the chocolate pieces or chocolate chips, pretzel pieces, and your other toppings over the bark. Put the bark in the refrigerator and let it chill until solid. To get neat slices, take the bark out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature for a minute. Use a sharp knife to cut it into shards (if it's too cold, the chocolate may break instead of being cut).

Want to take it up a notch?

Top it with this Beer Brittle

  • 1/2 cup beer (we used a stout)
  • 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar

Once chocolate bark is set, combine beer, sugar and corn syrup in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn down to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Once it reaches 310 degrees, pull of the heat and set aside to cool. Cool for 7-8 minutes, then drizzle chocolate bark with the brittle mixture. Return to freezer to set.
